Viral Trader Joe’s Pasta Hack

This ultra-creamy lobster bisque pasta combines Trader Joe’s famous bisque with tender langostino tails and perfectly cooked pasta for a quick, restaurant-quality meal in just 20 minutes. Rich, comforting, and surprisingly easy to make!

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 23 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (20 oz) container Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque
  • 8 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Trader Joe’s Frozen Langostino Tails (thawed)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Zest of ½ lemon (optional for brightness)

Instructions

  • Boil Pasta: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain.
  • Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  • Add Langostino: Stir in thawed langostino tails and cook for 2–3 minutes until just warmed through.
  • Pour in Bisque: Add the lobster bisque to the skillet. Let it simmer on low heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine Pasta: Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Finish & Serve: Stir in Parmesan, red pepper flakes, and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Protein Swap: Substitute shrimp or scallops if langostino isn’t available.
  • Pasta Options: Gluten-free or chickpea pasta works great.
  • Lighter Option: Use half the bisque and add steamed veggies like spinach or zucchini.
  • Storage: Best served fresh. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
